Welcome to Ross Daniel Adaptive Apparel™
The launch of RDAA represents both professional and personal milestones for me and my family. Our son, Ross Kleiman, is a teen with special needs. Multiple disabilities confine Ross to a wheelchair and require that he wear ankle-foot orthoses (AFOs). After some frustrating years of trying to find stylish, absorbent and comfortable socks to accommodate Ross’ AFOs, it became clear that there were none to be found. That’s when a marketplace need collided with a passion to bring fashion and dignity to children and adults with special needs — and Ross Daniel Adaptive Apparel was born.
PossAbilities All-Star: Alex Truesdell, executive director, Adaptive Design Association, Inc. For parents, caregivers and teachers of kids with physical disabilities, having a proper chair or desk in which to eat, learn or play can be an incredible challenge. In the world of special needs, Alex Truesdell will tell you from experience that one size definitely does not fit all.
“Thank you for the fabulous pair of argyles, which I tried out on the equally fabulous Billy Bly. Although he does not wear AFOs anymore, they work wonderfully well on his skinny and active legs. They stay put, keeping legs warm and the socks are not falling down and wrinkling into his orthopedic shoes (that my sister calls “correctively cute”). I have to admit he looks handsome, and we love to see him running his own life in unexpected ways for a guy who doesn’t talk!”
